Hot Yoga

 

Welcome to The Hot Yoga Ocean Ave. Your neighborhood school !

Yoga is practiced is daily. We recommend a minimum of 3 days a week to gain the full benefits of the practice.  Avoid heavy foods and alcohol 3 hours prior to class time.  Stay hydrated. Drink at least 2 liters of water during the day to prepare properly for your class...not drinking enough water may lead to feelings of nausea and dizziness while practicing. You are going to sweat so plan accordingly. What to bring:  2 shower size towels, mat, bottle of water and clothes to change into.

 Hot Yoga 

The series consists of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises repeated twice.  Practiced in a heated room.

Hot Intro 

A series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises preformed once.  Practiced in a heated room.

60 minutes class.

Hot Flow

Hot Flow is based in the Hot Yoga tradition with postural sequences associated with the primary series of Ashatanga Yoga

60-75 minutes class

All level class

Power Yoga

Power Yoga is based in the Barron Baptiste style of Hot Yoga with postural sequences of Ashtanga Yoga

This is a vigorous hot practice.

Surya Namaskara

Surya Namaskara is a series of 12 postures linked together designed to flex and stretch the spinal column and limbs through their maximum range of motion. The postures sequence is repeated 27 times.

This is a vigorous hot practice

30 minutes class

Some of the Health Benefits of Yoga

                                       The postures are sequenced and designed to warm and stretch muscles, ligaments and

                                       tendons in the order in which they should be stretched.

                                       The 26 postures move fresh oxygenated blood to one hundred percent of your body

                                       restoring all systems to healthy working order.

                                       Muscles and joints are balanced. Bones are strengthened. 

                                       The lymphatic system is stimulated for efficiency.

                                       The endocrine glands are stimulated aiding in the communication between hormones

                                       and glands.

                                       Toxins and waste are eliminated through the organs of elimination.

                                       Compression and extension of tissue stimulates nerves and improves communication

                                       within systems of the body. 

                                       The activity of the brain is improved by increased circulation and varying blood

                                       pressure.

                                       The heart and the lungs,a primary marriage in the body. is strengthened.

                                       Yoga aids in emotional well-being. Practicing regularly harmonizes the nervous and

                                       endocrine systems.

                                       Psychological powers of concentration, determination and patience improve and our

                                       ability to initiate self- control as needed in any given situation as well as the ability to

                                       just let it go and .. . . . let it flow!

                                      

Please Observe Studio Etiquette

All students arrive 20 minutes prior to class time. 

Questions can be addressed by the teacher before or after class 

No late entry; Doors will be locked.

Please turn off or silence you phone or electronic devices when you arrive. All cell phone use is to be done outside of the studio and reception area.

No shoes in the yoga studio.

Please do not apply perfume, scented oils or lotions just prior to entering the studio as some students have odor sensitivities and/or allergies.

Please remain in room for the duration of the class, even if you have to sit. Respect your limits; this is practice after all.

Please be mindful of others, observe silence in the yoga studio and a low volume in the reception area.

What To Wear

Comfortable stretchy active sportswear (no sweatpants or sweatshirts…it’s hot)

What To Bring 

Yoga mat

Large bath towel

Bottled with water (glass container recommended)

Dry change of clothes and a waterproof bag for wet clothes

Water refills are available for $1.

 

Hot Yoga on Ocean accepts credit cards for its larger packages.

Class schedule is subject to change without notice.

Hot Yoga Ocean Ave reserves the right to refuse service.

 

If you have health issues or injuries, please inform the instructor.

*If you are under a doctors care, for any injuries or have health issues you must provide us with written doctors approval to start your yoga practice, this is a prerequisite of Hot Yoga On Ocean Avenue.*
